Speaking Events
Writing is about reaching people with a story and/or a message. As a writer, I have a great love not only for written communication but also for reaching people through speaking.
My mission is to make a soul-deep connection with audiences. My passions are empowering others to use their talents for the Kingdom and equipping believers with a better understanding of who God is. It's always a thrill for me to share about fiction writing, too, in both teaching and conversational formats.
I've studied many Biblical/inspirational themes for writing projects, and as part of my personal devotions, that I believe have great value for my fellow believers. A few example topics are described below. I would love to share any of these talks with your organization, or I can develop a custom talk around your event theme. Please contact me to discuss your event needs.
Are you part of a book club? Are you an event planner for a school or library? I'd love to speak with your organization about books and writing. Currently booking virtual and in-person events. Also available to sing and/or lead worship at your event. |
Motivation for Intentional Christian Living
Whatsoever You Do: Using Your Talents to Serve God
"But I’m not a preacher, teacher, or speaker—what can I do?" We’ll brainstorm together, ways to honor God through our skills and talents, no matter what they are.
Not Weary in Well Doing: Gaining Spiritual Rest from Hard Work for the Kingdom
In a culture that promotes self-indulgence over hard work and self-care over caring for others, we as believers must be willing to give until it hurts, in terms of our time, energy, and resources, to fulfill our callings, love like Christ, and have spiritual fulfillment.
The Least of These: Adoption and Foster Care as a Biblical Directive
The Word of God has much to say about how we are to take care of the needs of others, and the need for safe, loving families for children in our communities is great. Heather shares her personal foster care and adoption experience to help encourage others to take action for hurting children.

Classes and Encouragement for Writers/Christian Creatives
Hanging the Curtains: How to Enhance Your Story Once You Have the Framework
Just like a newly built home needs decorating before it’s move-in ready, there are ways to improve your story after you’ve created the basic structure. This class focuses on ways to “pretty up” your writing, once the foundation and framework are in place, with figurative language, cinematic descriptions, sensory details, and stronger characterization.
Don’t Despise Small Beginnings: Encouragement for Christian Creatives
We all start somewhere, but it’s easy to get discouraged when we compare ourselves to others who appear to be doing more or seem to be on a faster track. Sometimes slow and steady wins the race and its best to focus on small, consistent steps to fulfill our callings.
